CANAAN LAND ADVISORY BOARD
JOHN STEVENS and his wife Marilyn have three children and 8 grandchildren and reside in Lattimore, SC. Pastor Stevens is Pastor Emeritus of Northside Baptist Church in Charleston where he pastored for 20 years. He has served on the board for Baptist World Missions, Fundamental Baptist Fellowship and Ambassador Baptist College and now travels as an Interim pastor. Canaan Land welcomes his sage advice.
DAVID MILLIGAN is married to Shannon and they have five children. The Milligan’s attend Grace Baptist Church in East Flat Rock, NC. where David is the Assistant to the Pastor, and leads the teen ministry. David received a BA in Bible and a Master of Divinity degree from Bob Jones University. The Milligan’s have volunteered and camped at Canaan Land for several years and have a heart for this type ministry.
BRIAN HAND is married to Christine and they have three children. The Hands attend Cornerstone Baptist Church and live in Greenville, SC. Brian has an MA in Bible and a PhD in New Testament Interpretation from Bob Jones University and teaches Bible at Bob Jones. Brian has also authored several books. The Hand family enjoys the outdoors and has been coming to Canaan Land for many years.
JEFF HAYWOOD is married to Sue and they are parents to Lily and Reid. The Haywood’s attend Bethany Baptist Church. Jeff is a local businessman in Brevard, NC and has been an invaluable help to Canaan Land for many years.
RON SAINSBURY is married to Michele and they have 3 children. The Sainsbury’s are members of Providence Baptist Church in Riverview, Florida. Ron is the principal of Providence Christian school. Ron and his family volunteer their time on projects at Canaan land and they also enjoy vacationing at Canaan Land.
MARK NIGGL is married to Jenelle (Hiltz) and they have three children. The Niggl's attend Fairfax Baptist Temple in Fairfax Virginia where they are both employed. Mark teaches junior and senior high science, math, and Bible, as well as coaching volleyball at FairFax Baptist Academy. Mark attended Pensacola Christian College for 4 years and then graduated from the University of West Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science. He served as a Christian school principal and athletic director for 13 years before going to Fairfax in 2008. Mark and Jenelle have retreated to Canaan Land for many years. Mark has also volunteered his time during the summers to help with camp projects.
NANCY CORBETT is married to George and they have three children. The Corbett’s are members of Calvary Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida and while in North Carolina they attend Bethany Baptist Church in Brevard. George and Nancy have enjoyed serving at Canaan Land for 34 years.
JOSE PEREZ is married to Amanda and they have four children. Jose has been the Business Administrator of Old Suwanee Baptist Church and School in Buford Georgia, The Perez family has been vacationing at Canaan Land for quite a few years.
JENNIFER HORTON MILLER is married to Ted and they have four boys. They live in Greenville, South Carolina and attend Trinity Baptist Church in Gaffney, South Carolina. Jennifer graduated from Bob Jones University and is an attorney. Ted also graduated from Bob Jones University and serves as Professor of Bible in the School of Religion at BJU. The ministry at Canaan Land is close to their hearts.
TROY WILSON and his wife Jan have two sons and reside in Pisgah Forest, NC. Troy graduated from Pensacola Christian College and AB Technical Community College and is currently employed as a District Engineer for the NC Department of Transportation and a licensed surveyor. Troy and Jan also own and operate Carolina Tax Inc. The Wilsons have attended Bethany Baptist Church in Brevard, NC since 1994 where they have served together with the youth group as well as college and career. Troy has served as chairman of the deacon board, head usher, and a member of the security team. Troy has been involved in several remodeling projects at Canaan Land.
