Who is eligible to come to Canaan Land?

Full-time Christian workers of the Baptist, Bible and other conservative Churches and ministries, children still living in the home and your parents/grandparents.   Also retired Pastors and Missionaries.

    (If you do not have a referral from a previous guest of Canaan Land, please provide us with the website of your ministry.)

What to Bring:
Linens, (for the size beds in your cabin) towels, all paper products, plastic garbage bags that tie, charcoal, flashlight, camera, food for your stay, and warm clothes for cool nights.

What is supplied:
All kitchen appliances, coffee pot, microwave, bar-b-que grills, utensils, dishes, pillows and blankets, dish towels, laundry house, firewood.

Do we need to confirm our reservation? 

Yes, please confirm your reservation one (1) week ahead by email.

 

Is there a check in and check out time? 

Our reservation week is from Saturday to Saturday. You may arrive Saturday at 2 PM and depart on Saturday by 10 AM. We have a Sunday evening Orientation and Devotional at 7 PM. We ask all guests to attend. 

Pet Policy - Pets are only allowed for the RV guests and must be kept on a leash at all time when outdoors.

Can we come for just a weekend? 

We are set up for one week stays in the family cabins with a minimum recommended stay of five (5) nights. 

NEW:  Birdhouse cabins may be booked for 2 nights.

 

May we have guests visit us during the week? 

Yes, but please advise staff and no overnights stays.

 

What is the dress code? 

Please dress in loose fitting clothes that come to the knee and cover the shoulders, chest, and back. Please abide by this dress code.

 

Is there any charge to come to Canaan Land? 

No, Canaan Land has been offered at no cost for 38 years. If you feel led to leave a small gratuity, it would be appreciated but not required.

How is Canaan Land able to operate free of charge?

Canaan Land is a 501(c)3 organization.  We are able to operate free of charge only with the help we receive each year from Volunteers and Church Mission groups.  Also, Guests are asked to donate a morning or afternoon to help with a camp chore or project.  Your "helpful hands" help to keep Canaan Land in operation at no charge.

Are RV campers welcome? 

We have four 30 AMP and two 50 AMP sites with full hookups.

STARLINK wifi service is provided in the RV area. 

 

What about the weather? 

The weather at our elevation is usually 10-15 degrees cooler than the weather reported in Asheville/Lake Toxaway.

 

Is Internet service available at Canaan Land?        

Yes, we have Starlink wifi system that provides wifi to the Pavilion, Chapel and RV campsites.
